After the adventures of button pressing, Isaac got the gist of the
controls. Lifting up, he floated the fortress on ward. Rekka kept look out,
and watched as the scenery zip by. Ajara found the food storage and
the barracks, so she helped herself some good meals and sleep, while the
rest of everyone searched the fortress, and watch the horizon, that
never seemed to change. After awhile the land gave way to what looked
like water. It seemed very strange to look down and see what should be
water but have it very flat. Hours and days pass, or what felt like it
to Rekka, since her sense of time was messed up since there was no day
and night here. The fortress found land again.
Deciding that
it's was a good time to leave the Ethereal plane, Issac transported
everyone to the material plane. It was the dead of night, with little
light from the moon. Rekka shivered, as the she began to understand what
she was seeing. Creatures that she never seen before were fighting, and
killing each other. Hearing more around them, It was decided that they
would return towards the sea and wait for day. Once day arrived, Isaac
pulled out the magical map, and they found themselves on a small island
that was just off of the Continent of Ajara's homeland. Isaac needing
"rest" (which Rekka found out meant sitting around doing nothing for about eight hours) allowed Rekka, who had been watching him fly the thing for the whole
trip, fly the fortress. Ajara navigated, while the others keep watch.
Rekka steered the fortress to the north.
In the bay area, that cut off the island from the main land, large
creatures that looked like a whale with wings, would break out of the water and fly for a short time before driving back into the water. There was some ooh and
aww about that, but Rekka was a little too focused on flying to give it
much mind. Hours went by and the landscape barely changed. Lot of
forest and animals, including ones that could fly, whom tried to attack
the fortress but because the protective barrier was up, they hit against
it and fell to the ground below.
Reaching a mid way point, everyone started to notice areas where the trees were knocked down in the same direction. only to have the trees in another area be knocked down in a different direction. There didn't seem to be any reason for this. Ajara and the others wanted to check it out, so Rekka, flew the fortress to the nearest one. As they arrived above it, the reason for the knocked down trees made sense. A HUGE Giant was sleeping or at least laying down. the trees became it's bed. Not wanting to stick around and have it spot them, Rekka steered the fortress away, but it was too late. the Giant had seen them. It got up and raced after the fortress yelling something that no one could understand. Rekka wasn't about wait around to find out she willed the fortress to go faster. but Willing just wasn't enough and soon the Giant caught up with them.
Jessica cast one of her spells, and she began talking with the giant. It was really confusing watching what was going on. the Giant keep repeating words, and pointing at the group. The giant didn't seem threatening but he was HUGE. At a question Jessica posed, he pulled out a tree quickly counted the rings and then showed it to Jessica. she lost count around 400. He then replaced the Tree back to it's stump and it reconnected good as new. Isaac noted that the Giant wasn't coming up magical but he was doing some really high level magic. Rekka wasn't liking this at all, and wanted to fly off, but the others wanted information. They through Jessica, asked but it seem that the answer weren't want they wanted.
Rekka figured that if the Giant was used to seeing people of their size then it wouldn't be so fasicated with the group nor asking us what we were. So Rekka had feeling that humonaids of their size were no longer wondering around this area. While she thought this the Giant run off. Rekka said that they should leave but before she could get the fortress going again the Giant returned with a RIVER. No kidding, he in his hand had a river that was still flowing, from it's origin point, and back to it's origin point. He then began to pour the water over the Fortress, which would have drown them all except that they had the protective barrier up. So the water rushed down the barrier, reformed in to the river and went on it merry way. Rekka had enough. She pushed the leveler forward, but the Giant not waiting them to leave, grabbed the Barrier. Freaking out, Rekka slammed her hand down on the fly button. the Fortress wanted to fly off, but it was firmly in the Giant's grasp. He keep his grip and began jerking the Fortress this way and that way, talking as he did so. Ajara not wanting to be bumped about, took fight. Isaac pressed the hover button but it was too late, the Giant's grip tighten and took down the Barrier. Ajara who flying at the time, was wind swept away when the barrier went down.
Quick thinking Isaac hit the shrinking button and the Fortress descended to the ground as it shrank. Bring everyone into the thick forest and out of the sight of the giant. Unknown to the group, Ajara flew over head back to the group only to be catch up the giant and placed into his pouch.
